Postcards from Greece

I'm back from Thessaloniki and Aleksandropolis and I've got a handful of photos to share with you guys! I found Greece very very similar to Turkey, even the people look the same. The only difference was that Greece was more organised in general and was cleaner. Greece was a great experience, there wasn't so much to see since we've only had three days and could visited only two cities, but all in all, it was such a fun weekend! I'll write down what I think was good and bad about the experience and maybe you can add some more? Let's go!

The Pros:
  1. The food obviously, it was very similar to Turkish food, but with more garlic and oil,
  2. The music, if you don't count the words, the melodies are the same as Turkish music,
  3. Thessaloniki was like a great getaway, with little Tavernas near the sea, it's also said that it looks similar to our city, İzmir.
  4. People were very kind and friendly unlike some countries I've visited,
  5. Greece is pretty cheap if you ask me, and we're in an economic crisis as well, where 1 Euro is approximately 3 Turkish Liras,
  6. And of course, Greek boys, more like Greek Gods.

The Cons:
  1. The language, obviously. I mean I could try to understand it if they used the Latin alphabet but no… I could only learnt "Kalimera, Kalispera, Yasas, Parago, Efaristo and Efaristo Parapoli", and most probably I spelled them all wrong,
  2. People are so relaxed and calm that it may take up to half an hour for just a coffee to arrive,
  3. Shops and cafes were closed around 5
  4. Cafes and bars and pubs and clubs only play Greek music, there are some exceptions of course.

  3. Mağazalar ve kafeler saat 5'te kapanıyordu…,
  4. Kafeler, barlar ve klüpler sadece Yunan müzikleri çalıyorlardı, elbette bazı istisnalar dışında.

Keep on smiling,
Gülümsemeye devam edin,
Eda GÜLER

    1. Like I said, it was a perfect getaway but I think it'll be boring after a while, not so many places to see and things to do… But yup, everything was very similar to Turkish versions! Thanks a lot! :)
